Grandmother got the recipe from her mother (Mom Hitch). Without a doubt, the best EVER.

Cornbread:
1 cup corn meal
1 egg
¼ teaspoon bacon grease
1 ½ cup milk
Mix ingredients. Melt bacon grease in a glass pie pan. Cook at 375º F. for 30 minutes or until top is browned.
Dressing:
1 pan cornbread, crumbled
2 stale biscuits or 4 toasted slices of stale bread, crumbled
Chicken stock
Chicken bouillon cubes
1 egg, beaten
Milk
Mix in broth of chicken or turkey (where 1 chicken bouillon cube has been added). Add chopped onions, chopped celery. Season with poultry seasoning, sage, celery salt, and pepper.
Add 1 beaten egg and a little milk to obtain correct consistency. Consistency should be like oatmeal.
Either stuff the turkey with the mixture or place in a 9×13 inch pan and bake for 30 minutes at medium heat. Cut into squares to serve. The mixture used for stuffing can be a little drier than that that is baked.
