Betty got this recipe from Louise Hartley, a friend in her Organ Club. It is fun to make and pull candid camera stunts on. Kim’s husband, John, sprinkled some of the “dirt” on his ice cream and explained to her it was “that new organic dirt that you could eat.” She thought he had lost his mind.

Betty poses with her Easter Bunny cake and Dirt Cake. (That’s it in the pot!) Would you be fooled?
2 3 1/2 oz. packages vanilla pudding
3 1/2 cup milk
1 cup powdered sugar
1 12 oz. whipped topping
1/2 stick margarine
1 8 oz. package cream cheese
1 package Oreos crushed
Combine all ingredients except the cookies and mix. Grind the cookies up in a blender or food processor a few at a time until they have the consistency of potting soil. In a plastic flower pot lined with a plastic bowl (such as a whipped topping container) layer the pudding and cookies finishing with the cookies. Wrap aluminum foil around fresh flowers and “plant” them in the pot. Serve with a small garden spade.
