This recipe came from Phyllis Nielsen, a professor of education at Birmingham-Southern College, with whom Kim used to work. It has become a favorite Christmas flavor and Shalon always served it on Christmas mornings when the whole family would meet at her house to open presents. Great memories! (We never made it with the rum.)

Each Thanksgiving (or Christmas, if we forget) we have taken a family photo. Christmas 2014 has been one of the funniest photos to date!
(Slide left and right to see where we forgot about the camera timer!)

2 cups water or apple juice

1 tall can pineapple juice

½ gallon cranberry juice

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon whole cloves

12 inches stick cinnamon

½ fifth of rum (optional)

Combine juices and water in a coffee urn. Add other ingredients to the basket. Perk.

Serve hot with a cinnamon stick.
