Shalon got this recipe from the Green Valley Baptist Church Cookbook, and now she makes it every year on Christmas morning as a nibble when the family gathers at her house to open gifts.

1 stick butter or margarine

2 tablespoons onions

2 tablespoons prepared mustard

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Melt butter and combine with the rest of the ingredients. Cut rolls in half (Shalon uses Hawaiian Savory Butter rolls, not the sweet kind) and dip in the mixture. Fill with sliced ham and either Swiss or Cheddar cheese. Put the completed sandwiches on a baking tray and heat for 10 minutes at 350º F.
